The Dolabra Shotgun isn't one of those weapons you casually stumble into while farming ARC Raiders Items. If you want the blueprint, you've got to go where the game hits hardest. Right now that means running raids during the Close Scrutiny condition and hunting for the ARC Assessor dropship. You'll spot it fast enough because of that huge red beam stabbing into the sky, but reaching it alive is the real problem. A lot of players see the signal, rush in, and get folded before they even touch the entrance. The area is usually packed with dangerous ARC units, and if your squad isn't ready for a drawn-out fight, the run can end in a minute.

What actually happens at the Assessor

First, you need to survive the outer defense. The ARC Assessor doesn't just sit there waiting to be looted. It's guarded by waves of enemies, and the nasty part is the mix. Vaporizers pressure you hard, while Surveyors force you to keep moving and break your rhythm. You can't really brute-force this unless your team is geared and coordinated. Most groups do better when they clear slowly, hold angles, and stop chasing kills into bad positions. Once the defense is finally down, the ship opens up and you can start breaching the sealed compartments inside. That's the only point where the blueprint even has a chance to appear.

The blueprint grind is very real

Here's the bit that catches people off guard: even after a clean clear, you're still at the mercy of RNG. The Dolabra blueprint shares its loot pool with other rare ARC materials, so don't go in expecting a one-and-done run. You'll probably need multiple successful breaches before it drops. For some players it happens early. For a lot of others, it doesn't. Around ten to twelve solid runs seems pretty normal from what people have been reporting, and honestly that sounds about right. You start to feel the repetition after a while. Same map condition, same red beam, same pressure every time. If you're chasing it, patience matters almost as much as your aim.

Why people still want it so badly

Once you finally extract with the blueprint and unlock it at the Gunsmith, the appeal makes sense straight away. Hip-fire the Dolabra and it throws out a broad electric spread that's great when enemies are right on top of you and things get messy. Aim down sights, though, and it tightens into a focused shot with much better precision. That switch gives it real flexibility, especially against heavier targets. It's one of those weapons that feels useful instead of gimmicky. You can panic-fire in close quarters, then immediately settle into a more controlled shot when a tougher ARC unit pushes up.

The farm doesn't stop after the blueprint

Getting the schematic is only step one. Crafting the weapon asks for materials that don't exactly fall into your lap: Shredder Gyros, Magnetic Accelerators, and Vaporizer Regulators. The regulators are the real headache because you need to target certain enemies from the new update, which means more planned runs and more farming under the right conditions. That's why a lot of players treat the Dolabra as a project weapon, not a quick unlock. Still, if your group is already comfortable pushing hard PvE events, mixing in an ARC Raiders Carry Run mindset can make the process feel a lot less painful, and pulling this gun into a fresh raid feels worth every bit of the effort.
