RSVSR Battening Down Guide for ARC Raiders Made Easy

Battening Down feels less like a mission built around pressure and more like the game nudging you to slow down and actually look at Riven Tides. Once Apollo gives it to you in Speranza, you head out to the coast and start tracing the damage left behind by the storm. If you've been thinking about route planning, map familiarity, or even stocking up on ARC Raiders Coins before tackling bigger objectives, this quest fits nicely into that early-game rhythm. It's simple on paper, sure, but it does a good job of showing how ARC Raiders uses space, wreckage, and shoreline landmarks to guide you without making everything feel overly scripted.

Start with the Wavebreaker

The first stop is the seawall along the northern beach, usually called the Wavebreaker by most players. You won't need to overthink it. Just follow the coast, keep an eye out for the heavy concrete barriers, and move toward the damaged sections. The game asks you to photograph the cracks and storm-battered structure, which is about as straightforward as it sounds. Walk up, use the prompt, done. What makes this part work is the atmosphere more than the mechanic. You're not fighting for your life here. You're reading the map through damage, seeing how the hurricane tore through the shoreline, and getting comfortable with the area at the same time.

Fixing the pipeline

After that, the mission pushes you farther along the coast to a leaking oil pipe. This section is a little more open, so you'll probably feel more exposed than you did at the seawall. That doesn't mean it's dangerous every time, but it's one of those spots where you'll want to glance around before standing still at the interaction point. The damaged pipe is easy enough to spot once you shift east from the Wavebreaker. Oil's spilling into the sand, and the repair prompt appears right at the break. There's no puzzle to it, no gear check, no drawn-out event. You interact, patch it up, and move on. A lot of players like this step because it keeps the mission moving without suddenly turning into a firefight.

Seaweed by the hotel shore

The third objective sends you toward the hotel-side beach, often linked with the Azzurro stretch of coastline. This part can throw people off at first, mostly because they expect something more dramatic. It's actually pretty low-key. You're searching near the waterline for the seaweed sample, and once you're in the right patch, the prompt appears. That's it. No extraction requirement hanging over your head, no item loss if the run goes sideways later. You can finish these tasks in one deployment if the path is clear, or split them up across multiple raids if things get messy. That flexibility is a big reason the mission lands well with newer players.

Why the quest works so well

What Battening Down really does is teach you how to move through Riven Tides without making it feel like a tutorial. You learn the north shore, the spacing between landmarks, and where you might get caught out in the open. More importantly, you get progress without needing a perfect run, which is a nice change in a game where extraction usually decides everything. By the time you head back to Apollo, you've got a better read on the map and a clearer sense of how these early missions are meant to build confidence. For players easing into tougher contracts or just looking for a calm way to settle in before chasing cheap ARC Raiders Coins and bigger goals, that's a pretty solid payoff.
