U4N Explores Aion 2's Style Shop and Pet Systems
Aion 2 is preparing to offer players a broad range of customization and collection systems when its global version arrives. Character creation is expected to be especially detailed, while the pet system gives monster hunting a direct connection to collecting companions. For players interested in gathering Aion 2 Items, these systems could provide plenty of reasons to explore the world beyond conventional combat and quests.
The game's monetization model, however, has a more complicated history. Although the global client is planned as free to play, the Korean and Taiwanese launch generated controversy over subscriptions and premium items that provided gameplay advantages. The developer eventually responded by removing the most controversial products and compensating players.
More Than 200 Customization Options
Character customization is one of Aion 2's major selling points. Players will have access to more than 200 options affecting the face and body, giving them considerable freedom when designing their characters.
The depth of the system means players can spend significant time creating a distinctive appearance. From small facial adjustments to broader body changes, the range should allow the community to produce a wide variety of character designs.
For players who consider appearance an important part of MMORPG identity, this level of control can make the first hours of the game particularly engaging.
Presets Make Customization Easier
Not everyone enjoys manually adjusting every slider, and the developers appear to recognize that. The Style Shop is designed to let players upload their favorite presets to the official website.
Other players can then browse those designs and adopt a preferred appearance with only a few clicks.
This feature could become especially popular once the community begins creating recognizable styles. It also gives talented players a way to share their character designs instead of keeping them limited to their own accounts.
Soul Catching Creates Unique Companions
Aion 2's pet system connects collecting with monster hunting. Players can defeat monsters, extract their souls, and use those souls to create loyal companions.
This approach makes pets feel like rewards earned through gameplay rather than simple cosmetic purchases. Players who enjoy collecting creatures can pursue specific monsters while naturally progressing through the world.
The system also has a practical side because pets can function as mounts. Their unique animations help make them feel more distinctive when traveling through the game's environments.
Free to Play From the Start
The global version is expected to launch as a free-to-play title in September 2026. The Steam listing already reflects the Free to Play model, while in-app purchases are expected to provide the game's revenue stream.
Importantly, there are no planned paid early-access packages for the global launch. Players should therefore be able to enter the game without purchasing an expensive founder or early-access bundle.
That approach could help create a more accessible launch, although the game's previous monetization history means players will naturally be watching the store closely.
What Happened in Korea and Taiwan
The Asian launch on November 19, 2025, became controversial because of the number and type of monetization options introduced.
Players encountered two subscription plans, a battle pass, and a donation store. The $14 Comfort Membership offered basic conveniences, while the $20 Content Membership included benefits such as increased dungeon loot and faster energy regeneration.
The strongest backlash focused on premium Quna purchases. Combat Enhancement Scrolls and Soul Books provided direct combat benefits, leading many players to criticize the model as overly aggressive.
A Fast Developer Response
The controversy escalated quickly. NCSoft's shares reportedly declined more than 15 percent within several days, and the community demanded changes.
Producer Kim Nam-joon responded with an emergency stream approximately 15 hours after launch. He acknowledged the monetization decisions as short-sighted, removed the controversial consumables permanently, and sent compensation to players.
The speed of the response was notable and showed that the developers understood how seriously the community viewed the issue.
Revenue Despite Controversy
Even after the monetization problems, Aion 2 reportedly generated about $70 million in its first six weeks.
That commercial performance suggests that the game's underlying content and player interest remained strong. For the global version, however, the challenge will be avoiding similar problems while maintaining a sustainable free-to-play business model.
Players interested in cheap Aion 2 Boosting may also be watching how progression systems develop after launch.
For anyone considering cheap Aion 2 Boosting, the most important factor will be how the global version balances convenience, progression, and fair competition. Aion 2 has promising customization and pet mechanics, but its long-term reputation will likely depend on whether its monetization remains transparent and avoids repeating the mistakes seen during the Asian launch.
